In Acts 2:42-47, we see what it looks like to live in real community with one another. The early church shared meals, prayed together, worshiped together, and made sure nobody was left without what they needed. This passage reminds us that church is more than just showing up on Sunday. It’s about doing life together, caring for one another, and growing in our faith as a family. When we live this way, we reflect God’s love in a way that others can see.

 

What would change if prayer became something we lean into instead of something we squeeze in? As we keep looking at the devotions of the early church in Acts 2:42, we’re slowing down to talk about prayer: why it matters, why it’s hard, and how we can grow in it together.

In Acts 2:42-47, we see how the early church built their lives around simple, meaningful habits—growing in faith, spending time together, praying, and caring for one another. Paul reminds us that the habits we build shape our walk with God and our relationships with others. What if we made small, everyday choices that brought us closer to God and each other? Sometimes, the little things we do consistently can make the biggest difference.

Acts 2:42 gives us a simple picture of what life together as believers should look like: learning God’s Word, sharing life, breaking bread, and praying together. This message explores what it means to stay rooted in faith and committed to community.

In Acts 2:42-47, we see what real transformation looks like. Paul reminds us that when Jesus changes our hearts, it changes how we live, love, worship, and connect with others. This message is about moving beyond simply believing in Jesus to letting Him transform every part of our lives.

In John 15, Jesus reminds us that He is the Vine and we are the branches. This message is a simple look at what it means to stay connected to Jesus, grow in Him, and bear fruit that makes a difference.

Jesus doesn’t just show us the way—He says, “I am the Way.” In John 14, we’re reminded that following Jesus isn’t about finding the perfect path—it’s about trusting the One who leads us home. Come hear what it means to follow Him—especially when the way forward isn’t always clear.

In John 11, Jesus says, “I am the resurrection and the life.” Through the story of Lazarus, we’re reminded that even when things seem hopeless, Jesus is still able to bring life, hope, and resurrection. Come be encouraged by the One who has the final word over death.

In John 10, Jesus gives us one of His most comforting “I AM” statements: “I am the good shepherd.” Jesus shows us what it means to be cared for, known, and loved by Him. He’s the Good Shepherd who knows His sheep, leads them, protects them, and lays down His life for them. Join us as we look at what it means to follow the Shepherd who never leaves us.

This week in our I AM series, we're looking at Jesus' claim to be the gate. In John 10, Jesus tells a room full of religious leaders that He's not just a way in, He's the way in. Anyone who tries to get to God some other way is climbing over the wall, and it won't end well for them.

 

We'll talk about what it means that Jesus is the only gate, why that's actually good news and not bad news, and how He promises life to the full for everyone who walks through Him.
